Family Coach Trips - Online bookings open!
The online bookings are now open for the coach trips with The SPACE Group and 4CT Limited. Family Cinema
Manchester Parent Carer Forum (MPCF) has planned an exciting series of free relaxed cinema screenings over the summer months. It's for SEND families living in the Manchester City Council area, with showings at GRUB / CULTPLEX, a street food and independent cinema venue in the Red Bank area of Manchester city centre. The second showing is on Saturday 8th July, 10am to 12pm. The film getting the most votes in a recent MPCF poll is...(drum roll)...Epic Tails (U)! Booking opens at 6pm on Wednesday 28th June. First come, first served.
July Youth Club - Starting soon!
Community Kitchen chef Roger is trying out a new youth club! It’s for young people aged 11-19 with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) living in the Manchester City Council area and will involve cooking and eating each session, as well as arts and crafts, and sports. The free club is every Wednesday in July, starting on the 5th, from 4.30-6.30pm, at Procter Learning Centre, Hulme Street, Off Jackson Crescent M15 5EF. The Community Kitchen Is Back
The Community Kitchen returns for summer! There are free sessions from 2.30-5.30pm on Wednesday 26th July, Monday 31st July, Wednesday 2nd August, Monday 7th August and Wednesday 9th August. They’re for young people with SEND and/or social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) to come with their families and cook (and eat!) together, learning about healthy food and cooking skills and BBQ techniques. All food and tuition provided. Come and enjoy the alfresco dining experience! The summer menu includes tender curried lamb, BBQ chicken and fish, Ackee and Mac’n’Cheese, and curried vegetables and plantain.
The sessions are for SEND families living in the Manchester City Council area and are at Procter Learning Centre, Hulme Street, Off Jackson Crescent M15 5EF. There will also be chance during the breaks for families to ride bikes provided by Manccycles, learning cycling and safety skills. Please arrive on time. Parking available. Water Fun - UPDATE!

There are still places on the free Ashton Canal kayaking and water-play sessions with the Water Adventure Centre (WAC) for SEND children and siblings aged over 8 up to 25 living in the Manchester City Council area. Children and young people must be able to swim 25 metres or more to paddle in their own boat. If they can’t swim, they must be accompanied by an adult (18+) in a double kayak or a rafted Canadian.
Sessions are 2-4pm on Thursday 3rd August, Tuesday 8th August and Thursday 31st August at the Water Adventure Centre, The Old Boathouse, Fairfield Locks, Off Maddison Road, Droylsden, M43 6ES (Sat Nav: M43 6DS) Please see the directions – it can be tricky to find! https://www.wateradventurecentre.org.uk/about/directions
Accessibility information: there is an onsite car park / the clubhouse has no steps or stairs / there is an accessible path leading to the canal side / there are breakout spaces available / there are two group changing rooms and three separate cubicles.
Note: there is a drop of 30-40 cm from the bank side to the water. Please contact the team to discuss any access requirements.

Trip to Gulliver's World
There are free tickets for Gulliver’s World on Monday 7th August for SEND families living in the Manchester City Council area. Make your own way by car or public transport, meeting at 9.45am, Shackleton Cl, Old Hall, Warrington WA5 9YZ. Booking essential - please email jo_chloe@hotmail.com or message 'Our Space Youth Group' on Facebook (private group) giving your name and how many places you would like. First come, first served. While the trip isn’t for wider family and friends, they are welcome if that is the only way you can get there. Nearer the time, please let Jo know if you are unable to make it so the places can be offered to someone else.
FLIP - Skateboarding & Music-Making
FLIP are free weekly sessions at Projekts skatepark near Piccadilly Station, running until 18th July 2023. It’s now every Wednesday (instead of Tuesday) in term-time 4.30-6.30pm. It's a chance for young people with SEND aged 8-25 in the Manchester City Council area to enjoy an hour of skateboard coaching, followed by an hour of music-making with Billy and Andy who offer accessible music workshops. Siblings can join in too. Families are welcome to hang out in the cafe during the sessions or watch the skateboarders from the viewing balcony. To book places, contact
